[ Jesse and his friends like to mess around and rib each other like a lot of people do, but there's a time and a place for it, and it feels like ragging on Nacho for falling on his ass might be an asshole move. Plus, he's actually stoked to be able to get out and do something and forget about all the stressful shit going on in his life. It's been forever since he just went and did something normal, especially now with his friends being roped into the business as his street-level salesmen. It feels like his entire life is caught up in Mr. White and his quest to make money. There's rarely an opportunity for an honest to god break.
Jesse just laughs it off when Nacho gives him a playful shove and tells him to shut up. The grin stays plastered on his face even as the laugh dies in the air. He watches Nacho start to try again, but sees his foot placement's all wrong. Instead of just letting him fall again, Jesse steps up and crouches down, wrapping his hands around Nacho's ankle and guiding his foot gently into a better position. ]
Like this. Yeah, that's spaced a little better.
[ Jesse stands up, brushing the grit off of the knees of his jeans. He steps back a few feet to watch from a safe distance, giving Nacho a little room. If he can't get it down, he'll step in and let Nacho use him for balance until he's feeling a little more confident, but he wants to see what he can do on his own first. ]
When you push off, don't scramble to get your foot back on the board. Just like, gently get it back on there. You'll throw your balance if you rush. Gotta stay loose and easy. Go with the flow, yo.
[ Slightly embarrassingly, Nacho flails a little when Jesse corrects his footing. His arms shoot out to the side and he moves them in circles for a second or two before he manages to get his bearings again. But he doesn't fight Jesse, allowing Jesse to correct his footing until he realizes that... hey, yeah! That does feel more stable.
The increased feelings of stability engender relief and confidence, and it helps to think Jesse is watching out for him and will make sure he doesn't do anything too stupid. He looks at Jesse for confirmation that he's doing it right, mixed with a hint of gratitude for not just letting him fall. ]
Like that? Okay... [ Deep breath. He looks down at his feet. Then, back at Jesse. A shy, but happy, smile emerges. ] Thanks, man. Appreciate the help.
[ When Jesse steps back, Nacho feels a sense of unease, and he fights his instinct to read out to grab Jesse for balance. But no. He's not a fucking pussy. He can do this on his own. Or at least, he'll try to do it on his own. He wants to cling to Jesse for support, but he's not going to.
He does try very hard to listen to Jesse's words, though. Gentle. Don't scramble. Okay. He can do that.
Gentle motions come more easily to Nacho anyway; He takes a deep breath and very carefully pushes off. The board rolls. It's a little wobbly, and there's a moment of precariousness while Nacho slowly places his foot back on the board. There's no guarantee he'll make it, but somehow Nacho is able to gently, slowly guide the board about five or six feet.
It might not be much of an accomplishment, but Nacho is grinning as wide as he ever does when the board bumps lightly to a stop. Nacho slowly hops down, looking back over at Jesse with his exhilarated (for Nacho, anyway) expression. ]
